We use the term “exotic pet” when referring to any household pet other than the more traditional dog or cat. This includes:
Dr. Mark also treats horses and other livestock.
Mark has provided our backyard chickens with the most caring, generous, and respectful care over the past 6 years. He made numerous house calls to help evaluate, diagnose, and treat our birds’ minor and major ailments with a mix of eastern and western remedies and good sense. Mark’s knowledge and intuitive sense about animals have been an invaluable help to our family and we are forever grateful to have had him as our veterinarian.
Dr. Restey is terrific! He is knowledgeable, compassionate, dedicated, and driven to give his patients optimal health care. Our pug Davenport has seen him monthly for several years for acupuncture treatments, which not only help her with weak back legs but are the highlight of her month. We affectionately call our appointments spa visits, and Davenport is treated like a queen. Dr. Restey combines both Western and Eastern medicines in a way a conventional vet could never do. We can't say enough good things about Dr. Restey and the way he treats his clients: both the animals and their humans. We feel so fortunate he treated our pug.
I ride a 20-year-old, gaited pony, named Pony. He is a sweetheart and pretty bomb proof on trails. His issue is that he often trips and falls forward, especially when walking down steep slopes. He lives between a ski area and a fruit orchard so we are often faced with steep terrain. Dr. Restey came to work on him and found his sore spots immediately! Pony has had other chiropractors work on him in the past, but he did not respond well. Dr. Restey is intuitive, patient, and gentle. These are very important qualities in an Equine Chiropractor! Pony really seemed to like him and let the Dr. do any necessary adjustments. After just two sessions, Pony was tripping much less, I had to hold him back he felt so frisky. Thank you, Dr. Restey for fixing Pony!
I met Dr. Restey when I was searching for a vet who had the postdoctoral training to treat the special needs of pet rabbits, a distinctly different challenge beyond the conventional veterinary curriculum. From his earliest clinic post, Dr. Restey was already delving into tenets of holistic medicine for animals--the benefits of acupuncture, herbal therapeutics, homeopathy, and others that have no allopathic counterparts. If our paths had not crossed at that time my eight-year-old BenBun could not have surmounted chronic dental disease and lived eight happy years more. I remain keenly impressed with Dr. Restey's willingness to hear from the client, and to communicate and educate where the client wants to provide the best nutrition and pro-active home care possible. He shows clear motivation to pursue his patients' wellness and a compassion for the clients' struggle to share in supporting that goal.
